Glamour & Vintage Inspired Holiday Gift Ideas!

The holiday season is fast approaching and I've been hearing 'What would you like this Christnas?' a daily question asked by my family and friends. I've selected a few merchants who carry wears that any vintage glamour gal would love to unwrap!

1~ Lucky Scent aka Scent Bar

Over the past few years, I have developed a profound love of perfumes. I have dabbled in fragrances from drugstore to high end designer brands. My favorites happen to be of the niche variety. Lucky Scent is an online fragrance boutique that specializes in the most delicious niche fragrances on the market. What I love most about them is that you can order samples of the scents you find most interesting, making it ideal for finding your perfect signature scent.

******Don't forget to sign up for their newsletters to receive notices on sales and shop specials!

2~ Miss L Fire

Another favorite of mine are shoes! Who doesn't love a great pair of shoes; and some of the cutest ones I've seen this year come from Miss L Fire. Not only is this niche brand a stylish must for any vintage wardrobe, but they are practical too! No more cold feet in the winter, because Miss L Fire has lovely vintage inspired boots to keep you warm! Follow them on Facebook & Instagram to be the first to see new styles and specials.

3~ All U Want Is Here

Last but not least, jewelry!...but not just any kind, I'm talking vintage jewels from my favorite Etsy shop! I've been collecting vintage sets for about 10 years now and am presently having a love affair with vintage brooches from the 1940's. This shop has the most exquisite pieces I've ever seen. Be sure to visit often, as they are constantly listing new items. Also follow them on twitter to be in the know on shop sales.

Regardless of what Santa brings you this holiday season; I wish you lots of love and happiness.

Let me know what's on you wish list!

xoxo

Happy Halloween ~ Vampira Inspired

Halloween is one of my favorite times of the year! Not only do I love that everywhere you go, the smell of pumpkin spice teas & lattes are wafting through the air; but for one day everyone gives themselves permission to dress up & let loose.

I have been a huge lover of 1950's classic horror movies, which brings me to my Halloween inspiration, Vampira!

Vampira was a character created by the Finnish-American actress Maila Nurmi. She took her inspiration from the character Morticia Addams cartoon in The New Yorker. With her striking dark hair & her pale skin, Vampira has solidified herself as the original hostess of horror.

To create my Vampira inspired look I resorted to an old drag queen trick...glue stick!!! This helped in covering my natural brow, so that I could recreate Vampira's signature arched brows.

I used  Cover FX Cream Foundation in the shade E-0 to achieve an even pale base. I then added a matte  bronzer by Faces Cosmetics to contour my checks and sides of the nose. I set the foundation with a light dusting of talc free baby powder.

An ebony brow pencil by Quo was used to lightly feather in the dramatic brow shape. A matte black/brown brow powder, also by Quo, was used to fill in them in.

To create the eye, I used Mac pigment in vanilla on the lid and slightly under the brow. On a fluffy domed brush I softly applied a smokey matte black shadow in the crease, keeping the shape more rounded then winged. I used Mac gel liner in black to line my upper lash line, followed by a generous coating of L'oreal Voluminous mascara in blackest black.

Lips were outlined in a nude lip pencil by Dior in the color Linen, then filled in with Mac Russian Red lipstick.

Thanks for checking out my blog! I'd love to know what you think or would like to see featured in the future! Leave me comments, I love to read them!

XO
